Ms. Lucy Ballew

Hello!  I am Gadsden Elementary's school librarian.  I graduated from Winthrop College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  After graduation, I worked at the State Department of Education and at a finance company. 

 When my children were little, I taught Sunday school, Bible School, and preschool at my church and discovered that I enjoyed working with children and children's literature.  So after all three of my kids were in school, I attended USC and earned a Master's Degree and Teaching Certificate in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.  

I was a librarian in Lexington/Richland School District Five for 15 years before coming to Gadsden Elementary.  I am happy to be a part of the Gadsden Elementary community and enjoy helping students on their journey to becoming life long readers and learners.
